Chaddsford Winery

Sunday was abnormally cold, the winds were crazy and it was not the spring weekend day that I was hoping for.  With no plans and not the best weather we decided that it was the perfect day for a little wine tasting.  We alway go to wineries and tasting rooms when traveling but haven't taken advantage of a local one that we've been wanting to yet.

Chaddsford Winery is about a half hour from our house (we are always nearby the area to shop, eat, run errands and such) and the tasting doesn't take super long so it was a nice quick outing for us.  They offer a tour twice a day of the winery but we opted to just spend time in the tasting room.

We each tried seven wines - it should have been four whites, two reds and a rose but the staff was very accommodating since I don't particularly like red and Derek doesn't like white.  Since there was less reds to try, I just tried my favorite two a second time and since Derek would be skipping quite a few more with four white wines on the menu, they grabbed out some reds not usually on the menu for him.

We each picked a favorite - the pinot grigio for me and the pinot noir for him to bring home to serve at a happy hour that night.

There's a great outdoor setting so it would be fun to return over the summer and enjoy a bottle after doing the winery thing outside on the patio.

Thanks for stopping by.  Cheers! xx

  4. Wineries are so fun to go hang out at and leisurely taste and enjoy. We haven't been to any in our area even though there are many. Probably since Drew isn't a wine fan. I need to find one that serves beer too.

  6. That winery sounds like so much fun! I need to check out the one we have here. That's awesome the staff was so accommodating for you too. I'm not a huge red fan either so I hate tastings where they mainly have red. <3, Pamela Sequins & Sea Breezes

  7. I love a good winery tasting! It's also great when they're accommodating to your tastes because I know that I can be a super picky drinker sometimes. Although, I would have never discovered that I like red wine without having to taste it at a winery this past winter...

  8. Looks like a fun time to me!! I only drink red wine so I would've only tried those. For some reason white wine gives me a headache. I tried some roses over the summer though and I may try to drink white again.. We'll see! Thanks for sharing and now I want wine lol.

  13. that's so awesome that they were so accommodating. we did a tasting a couple years ago and they unfortunately were not as accommodating for my friends who didn't like certain things. oh well. hope you get to go back during the summer!

  15. Visiting wineries is fun no matter where you are! That's so awesome that they were so accommodating and let y'all try a few different ones based on your preference of white or red!

  16. So great that this winery was so accommodating. I prefer whites as well, and always just suck it up and try the reds. I usually end up dumping most of them. Next time, I'm definitely going to ask if I can switch it up! Have you ever been to the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail? Lots of good wineries to visit. They'd be a little bit of a drive for you, but worth it if you have a DD for the day! ;)

  17. I love your hat and it looks like it was a good time at the winery. I love white wines in the summer and red wines in the Fall/Winter. But I can definitely drink red anytime.
