Life & Looks Lately {8}: All the Fall Festivites

What a fantastic weekend we had because it was another one spent at home - we've been enjoying these "non travel" weekends the past couple weeks.  This weekend was a great mix of activities and laziness with ideal fall weather thrown in there.  Today I'm taking a little peek into the weekend as well as some other festive fall activities that we've been up to lately…

Time in the City
Friday I went to meet Derek in the city after work for an early dinner at one of our favorite places, Ocean Prime before meeting up with some of our friends for drinks and a fun night out.

Halloween Fun
Saturday night we got the change to dress up for Halloween for the first time in years.  We don't usually dress up unless a reason presents itself (plus we've been out of town the past few years) but we went to a party some friends were having and enjoyed the rare dress up moment.

Derek was batman, I was a snowman and Stella was left at home for the party but she was a hotdog.  My brother was spiderman (people always comment on how he looks like Toby Maguire) so he and Derek had a little super hero theme going on.

Weekend Whereabouts
In addition to our nights out, we enjoyed some down time at home including (sadly) covering up our deck furniture for the winter season, enjoying a homemade pizza, some naps and couch time and an ugly Penn State game but another victory (6-2 now!). Saturday afternoon we had some fun family time celebrating my cousin's baby shower - I very much enjoyed designing my own bib for the soon to be newest member of the family.

Pumpkinland
A couple weeks ago we made our annual visit to Pumpkinland.  Each fall season we make a visit to the farm behind my parents house (every year since we were little and I love continuing with the tradition even though we are a little old for it now) to wander through "Pumpkinland" and pick out some pumpkins to decorate the front porch.  The past couple years we've added pizza into the night too - "Pumpkins and Pizza"- and we went with my mom and brother since my stepdad was out of town.

Other Fall Whereabouts…
Rounding out the fall events - I've been loving our view from the back deck of the leaves changing as well as having fall flowers in the house.

Stella and I have been getting in lots of long walks with the chilly weather.

My mom and I used to carpool to work most days when I lived at home and while Steve was away for work I dropped by on my way in and picked her up - it was fun reliving the old times!

It's hard to believe next weekend marks the start of November and these fall festivities and fun times will be coming to an end soon…

Linking up with Biana & Meghan this lovely Monday.

  1. Your snowman costume is amazing, lady! Way too cute, just too cute. We haven't traveled the past few weekends and it's been nice to chill. There is a lot on our docket coming up so the past weekends have recharged us for everything, do you feel that way too? Happy Monday!

  30. Is that a floral blazer you're wearing?! Sooo pretty. Love your snowman costume and holy cow your brother does look like Toby McGuire! Not sure I would've noticed if you hadn't mentioned it, and I think the Spiderman costume really magnifies it, it's not as crazy in the pumpkin patch pictures...but it's definitely true! Also pumpkins and pizza sound like a perfect day!
