Happy Wednesday, friends! I'm continuing to enjoy the week away and have another great gal taking over today.  Kristina from Medicine & Manicures is here today to share her part of the Summer Vacation Series.  She always has the nicest painted nails and the cutest outfits.  She's always doing something fun out and about in the south.

Also, don't forget to enter this Giveaway for some amazing items before it's too late!  And don't forget to pop over to Kids & Cabernet & wish her a happy second blogiversary!

Hi, everyone!! I'm Kristina and I blog over at Medicine & Manicures. You can usually find me chatting about wedding planning, my latest style finds, adventures in PA school, and documenting my travels. Traveling is so very important to me- you can't beat the feeling of looking forward to a vacation. My family didn't take that many vacations when I was younger so as soon as I hit college, I was ready explore as much as I could! While Christina is away on her trip, I thought I'd answer some fun questions about vacationing!

Best Vacation?
Hmmm, this is a tough one. I would probably have to say my most recent vacay to St. Maarten. Maybe it's the fact that it's so fresh in my memory, but my fiancé and I had an amazing time there. The water is beautiful, there are so many places to explore, and the food is ah-mazing… literally everywhere you go!! You can check out my recap part 1 and part 2!

Dream Vacation Location?
Bora Bora. I have always wanted to visit one of the Pacific islands and we will definitely make our way through Asia in the next few years. We considered it for our honeymoon, but with me starting a new job I didn't want to take that much time off so… we'll keep it on the list!

Favorite Vacation Activity?
Taking pictures!! Haha, but for real, I'd have to say exploring and trying new things like zip lining through the jungle or flyboarding over the water.
Packing Must Haves?
A magazine for the plane, a crossbody bag, bluetooth speaker (for jams!), and snacks for the trip!
Why where you live would be a good place for a staycation/vacation?
Charlotte is an awesome city. I may be biased, but it is the biggest city in North Carolina which equals tons of stuff to do. Whether you want to hike, whitewater raft, see a concert, go to a spa, eat at a unique restaurant, or stay in a fancy hotel, Charlotte's got it all!

Now for a little game of this or that:
Carry on OR check your bags?
Check bags, especially if it is for more than a few days. It really stinks that you have to pay for Caribbean bags now, ugh.
International OR domestic?
International. I love visiting new countries and experiencing different cultures. We have it pretty good here in the US but there's something special about going overseas.
Sightsee OR beach lounge?
Sightsee. Don't get me wrong, I love to lounge, but I love to explore and discover new places. I consider myself pretty adventurous so I'll try just about anything!
Over packing – Yes OR No?
Unfortunately, yes. I'm always working on my packing game. I like to think it's improving but it's still a struggle. I'm in awe of the people that can go to Europe with just a carry on. Teach me your ways!!
Your bag gets lost – what are the first three things you wish you put in the carry on?
This (fortunately) has not happened to me yet, but I would grab my makeup/toiletries bag, bathing suit (if we're somewhere tropical), and my camera!

I'd love to hear what your favorite vacation spots are! Please comment below and make sure to stop by Medicine & Manicures to say hey sometime and keep up with my daily happenings on Instagram (@kristinahendley)! I'll leave you with some of my favorite photos that I've taken on some recent trips and hopefully give you a case of wanderlust :)

  1. I'm seriously loving these vacation posts, only it's making me really want to travel. With two babies on the way, it won't be happening anytime soon. However, I can reminisce about my past trips; Punta Cana, Aruba, etc. So so fun!

  2. Love love love your St Maarten photos! That is still on my list of places to visit. And we both want to go to Bora Bora, so I think we should plan a blogger trip (with imaginary money) and anyone who wants to come can come haha.
Loved getting to know more about you!!
