Happy Fourth {Friday Favorites}

We've finally made it to the holiday weekend and I am so ready to sip some cocktails, relax and celebrate America.  Bring on the festivities.  I'm going to keep it short, sweet and simple today and get to enjoying this weekend.  I may or may not be lagging on sleep this week.  The Phillies game went into extra innings last night AND there was fireworks making for a late night following a late night from an impromptu Dining Under the Stars.

Linking up today with the usual favorites - April, Karli, Amanda and Erika.

{O N E} Fireworks
Last night was one of our Phillies games out of our season ticket package - which usually only four of us go and we rotate but since it was the start of the holiday weekend and fireworks all five of us enjoyed the night at the ballpark.  Growing up, I was terrified of fireworks for years - I always thought they were going to fall right on me.  Now I love watching them - the show last night was a great one.

{T W O} America Decor
Better late than never; I almost forgot to show the little Fourth of July touches around the house.  I love adding a couple little touches to our house for any of the holidays and this one is no exception.  In the recent years I'm loving Fourth of July more and more.  My few pieces are from Michael's/Home Goods and the flowers are a mix of two bouquets of mini roses from the grocery store that I couldn't turn down.

{T H R E E} Chocolate Dipped Delicious
Two years ago I made these delicious white chocolate covered strawberries and they were the perfect festive touch for the holiday.  I like trying out new things so I won't be making them again this year - but these are one of my favorite holiday treats that I've done.

{F O U R} Finishing Touches
Next week marks the one year anniversary of our house being built and us closing on it so in honor of that I'm going to show a few of my favorite little places throughout Casa de Sotherden on the blog next week (including re-sharing an old post about my office since there were so many nice comments Wednesday) but for now - I'm happy to finally have a little bit of nightstand decor.  It's been a mission to get a few items onto our nightstands but it of course fell very low on the to do list.  With the to do list winding down and some free time last weekend, we're were able to pull together something small and easy.

{F I V E} New Traditions
A BBQ? A lake getaway?  One of my best friends visiting? Being festive, very festive?
Yes, yes, yes and yes! The past couple of years we've slowly started making a tradition out of a big festive BBQ at home followed by some time at the lake and I'm exited to continue on with that tradition.  Also, it's our first Fourth celebration in the new almost year old house.  Okay, I'll probably never stop referring to it as the "new house".

I'll be starting with celebrating that my 8am barre class was cancelled and enjoying a little extra rest after a hectic week followed by getting pampered with adding red to my nails and toes - I feel like I never have red in my outfits (maybe this year) so I always like to get it on my nails to show a little spirit there.

That's all for me - I'm signing off for the day to kick start this weekend.

Happy Weekend and Happy Fourth of July !
