Out of Our Winter Slump {Weekending}

We have finally come out of our winter hiding and actually had a full weekend this weekend! Looking forward to many more and increasingly better weather!

My friend Nina and I saw Cinderella on Thursday and oh. my. gosh.
It was perfect!
I watched Cinderella every single day when I was little (my mom calls it my Frozen) and used to "twirl round and round in my dresses like Cinderella."  I also said that line every single day.
The glass slippers!! How fabulous?!  The costumes, the magic, everything was fabulous!

I didn't quite budget my time perfectly before I went out and left three huge baskets full of clean laundry on our bed to take car of when I got back - what a sweet surprise to come home to them all folded!! Major points for the husband for the surprise and the help!

Mom and I did some shopping to get her ready for her Charleston and each found some cute spring items! Steve was in the area of the mall for a meeting so stopped to meet us for lunch!
So happy to be back in Lilly again
It's always great when you wake up to sale emails when your already going shopping.
And I think I definitely need this tray, pitcher and cups for summer.

We started the weekend off right away on Friday night at happy hour with some of our neighbors before all finishing the night at our basement bar with some pizza, drinks and cards against humanity.
Tough to finish your workout when somebody is trying to play with you.
Saturday was rainy, gross, and I was one with the couch.  Double scandal episodes, revenge, Vanderpump Rules, Real Housewives, Pretty Little Liars.. literally every show needed catching up on. Of course some puppy cuddles were included too. It was a great afternoon for a Chick-Fil-A date.

A dog and a blog…
Saturday night we attended a casino night fundraiser (that my aunt is the chairperson of) for my cousins school and we had a blast! We always look forward to it because open bar (duh!) and you can just gamble for fun without actually loosing money (basically).

This year we finally won one of the raffles! As I was thinking gosh, how in the world do you win this, our number was called! Right at the end of the night my uncle gave each of us kids a couple extra raffle tickets and we won! I was really only in it for the jewelry store gift card (it's right by our house and I've been eyeing a David Yurman ring) so since my uncle gave us the winning raffle ticket, we passed on the Michael Kors bag and wallet to my aunt!
They always do a fun Tiffany giveaway where you buy the little Tiffany box lookalikes with a chance to win a necklace (or store credit).
We've decided Vegas probably isn't the smartest vacation spot for us; we don't know how to quite while we are ahead.
Our supportive cheering team (who nicely passed on their chips to the three "kids") and Derek modeling his prizes in the big win.

Yesterday was a mix of house work and house errands in our hopes to finally get decorating done.  We finished off the weekend by celebrating Grandma's upcoming (later this week) 89th birthday.
89 (almost) and feeling fine!

I was so excited to make her a homemade cake and then there was a slight accident with the frosting but I'd say we did a pretty good job eating it anyway!

Not too bad end results for a cake that turned out looking terrible!

  8. What a great weekend! Not budgeting your time and throwing clothes on your bed sounds exactly like something I would do - ha! What a great hubby you have to fold it all. That is too cute about Cinderella! Mine was Belle from Beauty and The Beast. I have heard that the new Cinderella movie is awesome, so I am glad to hear that you give it another positive review. That is awesome that y'all won during casino night! I have the absolute worst luck with all things of that nature.
